STRENGTHS:

 

·      CD’s include 600 performance studio tracks including 285 stereo vocal tracks and 285 stereo performance tracks.

 

·      Each lesson is standards-based/correlated to the national standards.

 

·      There is a great abundance of high-quality ancillary materials.

 

·      The program includes activities that can be used by the classroom teacher as well as the music teacher.

 

·      “Making Music” is extremely user-friendly.

 

 

CONCERNS:

 

The program does not yet include grades 7 or 8.  At this time, publisher suggests supplementing “Making Music” with grades 7-8 of “The Music Connection.”

 

 

 

 

OVERALL IMPRESSION:

 

“Making Music” is an exceptionally comprehensive music program.  It correlates extremely well with Diocesan, state and national standards.  “Making Music” represents a state-of-the-art approach to teaching music.
